Jimmy Aguilar

A rosary is schedule for 6 pm, Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at St. Peters Catholic Church for Jimmy Aguilar, 75, who passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at his home. Funeral mass is schedule for 10 am, Thursday, November 7, 2013 also at St. Peters Catholic Church with Father Charlie Martinez of St. Peters Catholic Church presiding. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Jimmy was born on October 29, 1938 in Capitan, NM to Cruz and Martina Benavidez Aguilar. His parents preceded him in death. Jimmy is also preceded in death by his brothers Eddie Aguilar, Lional Aguilar and Ernest Aguilar and his sister Dorothy Aguilar.

Those left to cherish his memory are daughter Cruzita Aguilar Potts and her husband Antonio grandchildren Elias A. Salazar and Joshua R. Lujan son James L. Aguilar and wife Alma grandchildren Nina Aguilar, Ivan Aguilar daughter Sarah L. White and granddaughter Brooklynn Warren brothers Max Aguilar and wife Francisca of Porterville, CA, Joe Aguilar of Roswell and Nick Aguilar and wife Velia of Roswell, sister Crucita Pina of Roswell and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jimmy retired from the Highway Department he continued to work for several years after retirement. His hobbies were tinkering with his old cars. Jimmy liked to spend time at Prices Truck Stop drinking coffee with buddies he also liked to work at home on different projects that were never finished.

The family would like to thank Dr. Badine and all the staff at the Cancer Treatment Center for the good care he received there and also Dr. Cathy at La Casa.

A special thank you from the family to his greatniece Donna Grado for all she did for our father and brother. Thank you Donna you did a great job. And to his very close friends Henry Dominguez, Hugh Graham and Manuel Payne, thank you guys.

Serving as pallbearers are Henry Dominquez, Larry Stone, Manuel Payne, Hugh Graham, Nick Aguilar Jr. and Lorenzo Salcido. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Aguilar, Vernon Aguilar, Joseph Aguilar, Antonio Potts, David Flores and Robert Apodaca.
