Jesse Wadsworth

Jesse Merrick Wadsworth, age 94, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Casa Maria Health Care Center in Roswell, New Mexico.

Jesse was born February 23, 1922 in Hermiston, Oregon to Merrick Fuller Wadsworth and Sue E. (Park). He received his education in Kentucky and in 1940, at the age of 18, he enlisted in the Army Air Core. He served as a flight engineer and in aircraft maintenance in Japan, Alaska, England and USA (Georgia, Maine, Texas, and New Mexico). He retired from the Airforce in 1964 and went to work at Airline Aviation and Great Southwest Aviation.

He married Edith Elizabeth Roman in 1946 in Raton, New Mexico. They had three children, Jesse, Janice and Larry. Preceding him death were his parents and two sisters, Lucy Fidelia Wadsworth and Nancy Chole Parks of Kentucky.

He is survived by his three children, Jesse Lee Wadsworth of California, Larry Wadsworth of Texas, Janice Wadsworth of Oklahoma and one niece, Sue Carroll Sims of Kentucky.

Jesse was an avid enthusiast of antique cars and motorcycles and spent many enjoyable hours in their restoration.

Funeral services will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Canon City, CO on Thursday, March 10 at 10am.
