Ms. George passed away on the 4th of July, 2016 in Roswell, NM. She was born to her parents Cleveland and Evelena Pitts in Hutchinson, Kansas on November 02, 1928. Both of her parents have preceded her in death.
Jeannette George was a long time resident of Carlsbad, NM, settling there in 1970. She loved the arid desert of the Carlsbad area and enjoyed being part of the Carlsbad community. Ms. George took up goat raising in the mid 1970's after the urging of a close friend. She raised goats, not for showing, but for the practical purpose they could provide. She used their milk in the stead of dairy cows, could cook the meat the family needed, and sell the younger goats for leaner times for the family. When the youngest child Paul developed an allergy to dairy she could supplement his need with the goats' milk. She was a resourceful woman who made sure the kids were always very clean and well fed. Ms. George made sure that her children's needs were always put first and foremost to hers. She will always be cherished as a good provider.
Survivors of Ms. George are her children Ken Cauffman and wife Diana of Carlsbad, NM, Phyllis Bell and John of Roswell, NM, Charles Cauffman of New Mexico, Paul George of Hobbs, NM; Grandchildren Robert Cauffman, David Cauffman, Linda Thomas, Lynn Bowley, Annetta Brower, Mason George, Shay George; 7 Great Grandchildren; 5 Great-Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Cleveland and Evelena Pitts; Brother Ken Worthley; and two Great Grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 10am at South Park Cemetery.
