Jay White
Graveside services will be at 11:00 am, Monday, August 1, 2011 at South Park Cemetery for Jay White 82, who passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Roswell Regional Hospital. Pastor Mike Knowlton of Waymaker Church will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted by the Roswell Masonic Bodies and The United States Air Force Honor Guard.
Jay was born February 12, 1929 in Portales, NM to A.C. White and Gertrude Elizabeth Teague. His parents preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his first wife Myrtle Mittie Paul who passed away on January 23, 1981 and his daughter Beverly Lynn England. He then married Wannema Towler on March 2, 1983. She survives him at the family home.
Jay is also survived by his children Hubert Dwight White and wife Alice, Forrest Byron White, Jay Curtis White Jr., Sandy Maria Pasnewski Sanderford, stepchildren Fred Kreutzberg and wife June, Joe Anthony Smith and wife Beth and Debbie Willard and husband Robert grandchildren Cayl Glean England, Bricia Lynne England, Melissa Amy White, Jason Aaron White, Jamie Dawn, Jarae Lynne, Janna Beth, Cassandra Sue, Cristen Nicole White, Steven Michael Pasnewski, Rian Adam Pasnewski, Ben Kreutzberg and Chelse Samario and Kayla Smith and sister Maurine Gibbs of St. Vrain, NM.
Jay served our country starting in 1950. He served in the United States Air Force for ten years, United States Army for one year. He then continued to serve in the United States Navy Reserves and New Mexico National Guard, he retired in 1989. Jay attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales and Jones Law School in Montgomery, AL where he graduated. He was an Insurance Adjuster for twenty years and a School Teacher at Sunset Elementary for over ten years. Jay was a member of The Masons, past member of Roswell Elks Lodge and The Eastern Star. He lived in many states but always called New Mexico home where he lived for the last thirtysix years. He loved reading, working crosswords and being with his family, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
