Jane was born August 18, 1919 in Roswell, NM to Charlie Lewis and Florence Miller who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband Robert Dan Thompson Jr and grandson James Miles.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Bobby Thompson and wife Ann of Lubbock, TX and Chuck Thompson of Roswell, NM; daughter Sissie Miles and husband Jim of Littleton, Co; grandchildren Robert Dan Thompson IV, Jesse Thompson and Chad Miles; nieces and nephews Charlie Lewis, Boyd Lewis, Marilyn Stovell, Carolyn Knoll, Larry Lahusen and Barbara Lahusen.
Jane was a lifelong resident of Roswell, NM. She graduated from Roswell High School where she was crowned the first homecoming football queen. Jane worked at Knadles and Bray Moore clothing stores. She became owner of the family ranch north of Roswell in 1961. Jane loved to attend the monthly community dances at Dunlap.
Moderation was never a term in Jane's vocabulary. Life was always to be approached full throttle. One never had to question where Jane stood on an issue or what was to be done about it. The lesson she taught all of us was "Never Lie". Tell the truth and deal with the consequences.
Honorary pallbearers are Scott McNalley, Samuel G. Johnson, Boyd Lewis, Charlie Lewis and Larry Lahusen.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to the New Mexico Boys Ranch, 775 Highway 304, Belen, NM 87002.
