Jane Louise Mastin
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2008 at Ballard Funeral Chapel for Jane Louise Mastin, 82, of Roswell who passed away August 14, 2008 at her home. Vern Edmonson will officiate.
Jane was born April 15, 1926 to Harold Henry Hahn and Lou Flora Crandall in Teaneck, New Jersey. Her parents preceded her in death as well as one sister, Nina Valentine
Jane married 2nd Lt. John W. Mastin, June 4, 1947, in Bogota, New Jersey. They moved from West Point, New York to Roswell, New Mexico in 1974. John also preceded her in death in 2001.
Jane was a member of the Chaparral Rock Hounds, and was an avid collector of Hummel figurines. Most of her time, however, was spent traveling with John in their Airstream trailer throughout the Northern Hemisphere as active members of the Wally Byum Caravan Club International and the Albuquerque Regional Chapter. They took their last trip about four months before Johns passing.
She is survived by her son Wayne A. Mastin and wife Michelle of Beverly, Mass.; daughter, Linda Mastin of New Windsor, NY; sister, Ann E. Callanan of Quincy, Mass.; grandchildren, Brian, Sean, Kelly, and Bridget Mastin, numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 17, 2008 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Ballard Funeral Home. After the services Jane will be cremated as per her wishes and her ashes will be placed with her husband in the columbarium at the West Point Cemetery in West Point, NY.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the local Alzheimers Association New Mexico Chapter, 404 N. Kentucky, Roswell, New Mexico 88201 in Jane Mastin name in lieu of flowers.
