James Monroe Wooldridge

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Ballard Funeral Chapel for James Monroe Jim Wooldridge, 67, of Las Cruces, New Mexico who passed away, May 7, 2008. Graveside services will take place at 1:30 at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Wednesday afternoon, May 14, 2008.

James was born July 7, 1940, in Webb City, Oklahoma, to Charles Clark Wooldridge and Beulah Mae Phifer. Both parents have preceded him in death as well as his daughter Cindy Ann Wooldridge.

James graduated from Roswell High School in 1959. He also graduated from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was a business owner in retail sales for many years and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. James was a member of the VFW and The Fraternal Order of Eagles in Las Cruces, New Mexico and the Elks Club in Ruidoso, New Mexico.

He married Viola Rodriguez March 9, 2004. She survives him at the family home.

Other survivors are his daughter, D J Wooldridge, and grandsons, Aspen and Kamran of Dallas, Texas; sisters, Suzanne Wilson-Wuest of Hobbs, New Mexico, Pam Gwin of Texas, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by step-children: Kathy Wilcox of Roswell, New Mexico; Joe Chavez of Las Cruces, New Mexico and step-grandchildren: Chrisitan, Caelin, Laken, Wilcox, Seth and Chloe Chavez.
