James Lawrence

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am, Monday, March 31, 2014 at Ballard Funeral Home for James C. Lawrence, 81, of Roswell who passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014. Raymond Flores, elder of the Rio Pecos Spanishspeaking congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses will officiate with interment to follow at South Park Cemetery.

James was born on December 8, 1931 in Knoxville, TN to Samuel Lawrence and Mary Jo Lawrence. They have both preceded him in death as well as one son Mike Lawrence, one brother Robert Lawrence and one sister Margaret Hill.

James married Lydia Medina in Roswell, NM on December 6, 1986. He is survived by his wife Lydia sister Iva Lee Poston and husband Bill son Ricky Lawrence and wife Ann, their children Gwendy, Ashley and young son stepdaughter Clarisa Silva and husband Ernest, their daughter Christine Silvas. James is also survived by another stepdaughter Patricia Bradley and husband Wade, their children George Talavera, Vanessa Talavera and Dominic Bradley three nieces and three nephews all of Knoxville, TN his best friend Jerry Ballew and wife Sarah and children Jerry Jr., Steven and Jeanette. He will be sadly missed by four great nephews, three great nieces and one greatgreat nephew as well as many other relatives and friends.

Serving has pallbearers are Dominic Braley, Wade Braley, Roberto Valero, George Talavera, Orlando Vasquez and Pablo Nevarez.

For many years James was a truck driver for MPI and recently employed by Walmart. He loved working in his garden, growing flowers and working.
