James Lisle Hinkle

A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church for James Lisle Hinkle, 76, of Roswell who passed away August 13, 2007 at his home. Rev Robert Tally of St. Andrews Episcopal Church will officiate. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Jim was born on August 12, 1931 in Roswell, New Mexico to Clarence E. Hinkle and Lillian Tannehill Hinkle. Both of his parents have preceded him in death.

Jim is survived by his sons: James Hinkle and wife Sherie of King City, California and Mark Hinkle and wife Jocelyn of Tucson, Arizona; his daughter Laurie Lehman and husband Matt of Salt Lake City, Utah; his brothers: John Hinkle and wife Linda of Roswell and Charles Hinkle of King City, California; his sister: Bettianne Bowen of Abilene, TX; and his grand children: Foster, Lillian, Linnet, Mason and James.

Jim graduated from the New Mexico Military Institute and received his law degree from Washington and Lee University in Virginia. He served as a JAG Officer in the US Army, was a member of the Texas State Bar Association, and the Masonic Lodge as well as the Roswell Rotary Club where he was Recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award. Jim was a loving father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
