James Hawthorne

James Edward Hawthorne, age 77, of Roswell, NM, passed away at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX on Friday, September 16, 2016. He was born in Oxley Township, Arkansas on April 12, 1939 to the late John Washington Hawthorne, Jr. and Voida (Branscumb) Hawthorne. He had retired from working for the City of McCamey Water Department.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of almost 58 years: Viola Hawthorne of Roswell; daughter: Frieda H. Pippin of Odessa; two sons: Leon Hawthorne and Donnie Hawthorne, both of Roswell; sisters: Wilma Goodall and Johnnie Mae Scott, both of Roswell and Evelyn Aderholt of Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren: Troya, Trinity Atlee, Ashlee, Chelsea, Lora, Hailey, and Dakota; 7 great-grandchildren: Kayla, Tristan, Stetson, Kenya, Madi, Zayden and Emily.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Freddy Hawthorne and Margie Richardson; and one great-grandbaby: Baby J.

Graveside services will be at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Roswell, NM, Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM.
