Jack Blackwell Hopper
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2010 at the Ballard Funeral Home Chapel for Jack Blackwell Hopper, 88, of Roswell who passed away February 2, 2010 at his home. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery the Roswell Veterans Honor Guard will conduct a Military graveside service.
Jack was born on February 16, 1921 in Gorman, TX to Asa Clifton Hopper and Alice Lee Carter Hopper. His parents have preceded him in death as well as his brothers: Elton, Jiggs and Audravee and his sisters: Opal, Bobbie, Billie and Betty Sue.
Jack married Frances Prichard on November 19, 1949 in Hobbs, NM. His wife survives him at the family home.
Jack is also survived by his daughters: Fran Hopper of Albuquerque, NM, and Kathy Hopper of Roswell as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack served his country in the Army during World War II. He worked for El Paso Natural Gas for 33 years and retired with the position of Superintendent. He moved to Roswell in 1983 and was a member of West Alameda Church of Christ, and was past member of the Masonic Lodge and the VFW. He enjoyed reading and being with his family.
