Israel Salcido Gutierrez
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 16, 2018 at Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder Day Saints for Israel Salcido Gutierrez, 58, who passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. He was born in Roswell, NM to Armando Gutierrez and Tillie Salcido. His father preceded him in death along with his brother Adam Gutierrez.

Israel graduated from the class of 1979 the Dexter Demons. He was the #2 fan of the Dallas Cowboys who loved watch play; his dad was the #1 fan. Israel was a volunteer firefighter for the Hagerman Fire Department; he also worked for TMC and Dean Baldwin. The job he loved the most was working with his dad on the ranch and helping him make the best chicharron's you ever tasted. Most of all he loved making people laugh and watching his grandchildren play their sports, who loved getting lots of hugs from and also his dog Ginger.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Yvonne Gutierrez; mother Tillie Salcido; children Shaune Marie Juarez, Michael Eugene Ripley and Mary Ripley; sisters: Irene Gutierrez and Irma Ramirez and husband Fendenco; grandchildren Tristan Rene, JaJai and Lacie Elizabeth Juarez; nephews Steven Ramirez and wife Kelsie, Justin and Anthony Ramirez and niece Kristel Shalee Gutierrez.

I would like to say thank you to my best friend's brothers for your friendship, Robert Aronda and Israel Gomez.

One night I dreamed...
I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
Other times there was one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
That during the low periods of my life,
When I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord, "You promised me Lord,
That if I followed you, you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
There has only been one set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most, have you not been there for me?"
The Lord replied, "The times when you have seen
Only one set of footprints in the sand, is when I carried you."
