Burial will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at General Douglas L. McBride Veteran's Cemetery for Irene E. Rodriguez, 70, who passed away November 15, 2018 in Lubbock, TX.

Irene was born on February 15, 1948 in Arabella, NM to Dudley Rue and Mable Sanchez Rue. She is survived by her husband Manuel Rodriguez of Carlsbad NM; sons Bob D. Bernal of Tucson, AZ, Jesse R. Bernal of San Francisco, CA, Alexander M. and wife Gina Rue of Aledo, TX; step sons Lil Manuel Rodriguez of Roswell NM and Felipe and Sonia Rodriguez of Las Vegas NV; grandkids Brianna and husband Robert Cope of Tucson, AZ, Alexandra Bernal of Tucson, AZ Alani Smith of Roswell NM, Julian, Dominic and Isabella Rue of Aledo, TX; step grandkids are Phillip, Celestino and Rocco Rodriguez of Las Vegas NV; great-grandkids are Robert, Devin, Ethan and Jaden of Tucson, AZ; brothers Louis and wife Mary Rue of Tucson, AZ, Toby and wife Viola Rue of Ruidoso, NM; sisters-in-law Tillie, Lupita and Ola; as well as numerous nieces nephews and cousin.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Dudley and Mable Rue; Brothers Floyd, Amos, Andy, Joe and wife Mary, Felix, Richard and wife Lupe, Jimmy and Melvin as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Irene was a loving wife, mom, and grandma who enjoyed helping others and spending time with friends and family. She greatly enjoyed dancing, cooking and sewing. Irene was well known and loved around all the communities she lived in. Her pastime was spent helping others and enjoying life. She was a lifelong member of The Assumption Catholic Church in Roswell, N.M. As well as Saint Mary's Catholic Church of Marfa, T.X. Her heart was true and faithful.
She will always be in our hearts and greatly missed by all that love her.
