Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am, Friday, August 24, 2012 at Ballard Chapel for Ira Bud Idran Brooks 92, who passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012 in Roswell. Doug Austin of Country Club Road Church of Christ will be officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Ira was born in Harrah, Oklahoma on March 13, 1920 to James Oscar and Grace Hensley Brooks. His parents preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death are two brothers, three sisters and two great grandsons. Ira married Mildred Jean Tumbleson on October 9, 1946 in Carlsbad, NM. She survives him at the family home in Roswell of sixtysix years.

Also surviving him are his sons Robert of Alabama, James of Texas and Steve of Roswell his daughters Robyn of Arkansas, and June of California twelve grandchildren and sixteen greatgrandchildren.

Ira was a farmer early in life and had a career in the Civil Service as a firefighter at Holloman Air Force Base and Edwards Air Force Base in California. He retired from Edwards AFB and moved back to Roswell in 1975. Ira was a member of Country Club Church of Christ.

Pallbearers will be Davis Bennett, Bob Cates, Jeremy Miranda, and Doug Austin.
