In the early morning of January 12, 2016, Hortencia Fajardo received a call, a sort of an offer she couldn't resist, for an appointment from which she wouldn't be returning. The assignment comes with a huge sign on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. Hortencia, 90 years old, a longtime resident of Roswell, will be reunited with her late husband, Leo Sr., her beloved sons, Ricky, Leo Jr., Manuel and John along with an infant daughter Beatrice Also on the reception list will her mother Anita Bustamante, sisters Hope and Eva, brother Bonnie and many friends who have gone before her to show her the ropes. Her new mission will take her to a wonderful place, called Heaven, where she will socialize, dance and whatever her heart desires. Music and laughter are guaranteed.
This beautiful lady may have lost her battle to cancer, but her spirit and love for her family lives on, as she left instructions for children to carry on and celebrate her mission, her legacy here on earth. Her family left with this deed is her sisters; Elia Castaneda and Lydia Bustamante Acedo both of Carlsbad, NM, her daughter Anita Sandoval, husband Arthur, sons; Pascual Fajardo and wife SaraLei, Raymond Fajardo, Michael Fajardo, Paul Fajardo and wife Lynn, Lewis Fajardo of Lake Charles, Louisiana, daughter in-law Linda Fajardo of Houston, TX and 22 grandkids, 20 great grandkids. If you knew this strong lady, these instructions must be adhered to and carried out.
Mom, mama, curly, we want you to know you did a great job here on earth and we wish you safe journey. We will remember your wisdom, your beautiful smile, your laughter and your infinite guidance. You lived life and you taught how to live, how to be good to people, how to help others, but to never lose your integrity. Mom, you reached so many people with your kindness and friendship. Many friends also claim you as MOM. Well done, Hortencia. Now go and enjoy your everlasting happiness with our Lord and company.

God looked around his Garden and found an empty place.
He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
And knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes,
He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly.
When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain,
We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again.
You've left us precious memories, your love will be our guide,
You live on through your children, you're always by our side.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you on the day God called you home.
