A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at St. Johns Catholic Church for Hope Hudson, 94, of Vaughn, NM, who passed away Monday, August 13, 2007 at Guadalupe County Hospital. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2007 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Hope was born on July 22, 1913 to Juan Ponce De Leon and Delores Madrid Ponce De Leon in El Paso, Texas. Both of her parents have preceded her in death as well as a son: Marcelino Noriega; two brothers: Manuel Ponce De Leon and Oscar Ponce De Leon; and a sister: Betty Escalante

Hope is survived by her sons: Carlos Noriega and his wife Gloria of Roswell, Ernest Noriega and his wife Soledad of El Paso, TX and Juan Noriega and wife Linda of L.A., California; her daughters: Patsy Vacca and husband Herbert of Boston, Massachusetts, Rosie Noriega Lopez Pino and husband Claude of Walsenburg, Colorado, Ruth Rael and husband Alex of Vaughn, NM and Judy Ulivarri and husband Norber of Walsenburg, Colorado; her sister: Gloria Sparrow and husband Jim of Sheppardsville, Kentucky; her twenty five grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Hope had lived in Roswell for many years before moving to Vaughn. She was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Johns Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be Carlos Sanchez, Michael Hudson, Louie Noriega, Charles Noriega, Sonny Noriega, Valentino Lopez, Ross Solis and Garriel Solis.
