Herbert Lee King
A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 5, 2009 at South Park Cemetery for Herbert Lee King, 92 of Roswell who passed away September 29, 2009 at Casa Maria Nursing Center. The Roswell Veterans Honor Guard will conduct a military graveside service. Cecil Kimberlin will officiate.
Herbert was born on April 21, 1917 to Albert S. King and Bertha Baker King in Little Rock, Arkansas. His parents have preceded him in death.
Herbert married Ina Pendergraft on March 6, 1948 in Clovis, NM. His wife survives him at the family home.
He is also survived by his son: Ronnie Wayne King and wife Linda of Placerville, CA; his daughters: Gertrude Lee Martinelli and husband Ed of Espanola, NM, Sue Wilson and Terry Mathews of Roswell, Ginger Scott and husband Danny of Artesia, and Brenda Brown and Jim Dodson of Roswell. He was also survived by 2 brothers, 3 sisters, 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Herbert has lived in Roswell for most of his life. He worked for the Pollard Bus Company for 20 years and the City of Roswell for several years then retired in 1979. Herbert was a member and well known at the VFW and the Eagle Bingo Games.
Pallbearers will be Herb King, David Wilson, Michael Wilson, James De Borde, Aaron King, Joshua King, Warren Brown, Mathew Brown , Christopher Scott, Shae Fanning, Casey Golden, Shane Clark, Randy Bryant and Richard Kermode.
