Helen Matta Castillo

Helen Matta Castillo, 77, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 surrounded by the love of her family. She was born March 24, 1943 to Bruno L. Matta and Refugia C. Matta who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband Daniel Castillo; son Mark A. Vasquez and daughter Angelica Castillo.

Helen married Daniel Castillo on July 24, 1982 and they were very blessed with two special children who survive her, daughter Amanda of Roswell, NM and son Mark and his wife Marylou Vasquez of Lubbock, TX; grandchildren Mark Vasquez Jr. of Roswell, Matthew Vasquez of Roswell, and Seth Vasquez of Roswell; great grandchildren Romeo Vasquez of Roswell, Casanova of Albuquerque, Alize Vasquez of Albuquerque and Jadis Vasquez of Albuquerque and great-great grandchild Zeylium Vasquez of Roswell. Also surviving her are her brothers Bruno Matta Jr of Roswell, Mike Matta of Roswell, Antonio Matta of Albuquerque and Vincent Matta of Roswell.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Mark Vasquez, Casanova Vasquez, Matthew Vasquez, Seth Vasquez, Pete Matta and Andrew Ortega.

A rosary will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 22, 2020 at Ballard Funeral Home with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, Monday, June 22, 2020 at Ballard Funeral Home.
