Helen Sue Barajas
A memorial service celebrating the life of Helen Sue Barajas is scheduled at 2:00, on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Country Club Church of Christ, 700 W. Country Club, officiated by Doug Austin.
Helen passed away on February 23, 2008 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Roswell on June 18, 1937 to Harry and Norene Whiteley who both preceded her in death. Her brother Rex also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Johnnie. Together they owned and operated Johnnies Exxon on East Second for over 50 years. It is now Johnnies Car Care Center. She is survived by her brother, Wallace Whiteley and wife Eddie of Ruidoso; two sons, Mike and wife Marcia of Roswell and Steve also of Roswell; one daughter, Kelly Britt and husband William of Dexter. Her nine grandchildren, Valerie Stiles and husband Jacob of Odessa, TX; Jeff Barajas and wife Jessica of Roswell; Garrett Barajas of Roswell; Steven John of Durango, CO; Brandon Barajas of Portales, NM; Jason Burke of Broken Arrow, OK; Justin Burke and wife Prisma of Las Cruces; John Herry Britt of Roswell and Kyler Barajas of Albuquerque; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, also, her mother in Law, Marie Barajas of Roswell. Three sister in laws, Helen Woodfin and husband Woody of Ruidoso; Judy Willingham and husband Pat of Ruidoso and Terri Trotter of Ruidoso.
Helen attended Ruidoso High School class of 1955. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
