No services will be held in Roswell for Dean Lollar who died Monday, April 22, 2013 in Roswell. Dean will be cremated according to his wishes and will be placed next to his son Jeff in Dallas, TX.

Dean was born January 17, 1943 in Sparta, TN to Ardell W. Lollar and Virginia Norrod. His father preceded him in death and also his son Jeffrey Lollar.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Nancy Lollar of the family home in Roswell mother Virginia Norrod of Sparta, TN son Travis Lollar and wife Gaby of Dallas, TX daughter Katie Casarez and husband Marcos of Roswell sister Joyce Johnson and husband David of Sparta, TN grandson Alexander Casarez and nephew Matthew Johnson.

Dean was Native Tennessean graduating from Tennessee Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree. He had a 34 year career with the Boy Scouts of America. Dean served at locations in Tennessee, Texas, New Mexico, Washington and Illinois. He retired as CEO for the BSA in Chicago, Illinois. His professional background included experience regarding fund raising principles, foundation managementpromotion, financial, personnel, and organization management. Dean was elected several terms to represent member agencies in United Way board decisions. He served in Texas and Washington as voice and liaison for youth serving organizations with the legislative bodies and state agencies. After returning to New Mexico Lollar was involved with several civic endeavors including serving as Commander of the American Legion Post 11, president of the Carrizozo Rotary Club, and president of the Carrizozo Chamber of Commerce. He has served as a board member of New Horizons a home for the developmentally disabled, Conquistador Council Boy Scouts of America, and the Community Foundation of Lincoln County.
