Gloria Marie Lucero, age 73, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2023. A viewing will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at Ballard Funeral Home from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm.  The Rosary will be at 6:00 pm immediately following the viewing. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at St. John’s Catholic Church.

Gloria retired from Roswell Independent School District. She was the Librarian at Washington Ave. Elementary School for many years. She had also worked as a Chapter Reading Teacher and she taught English to Spanish speaking adults at night school for so many years. She was devoted to all her students and they were always happy to see her years later.

Gloria was married to Frank Lucero for 56 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with all her grandchildren. She taught the little ones how to garden and plant beautiful flowers and how to paint rocks for the garden borders. They decorated the yard every holiday. Gloria loved the way her home looked because the great-grandkids enjoyed it and they learned so much from her.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Frank; son Daniel; granddaughters, Briana, Danielle, and Racquel; grandsons Louie, Eric and wife Lupe. Her great-grandchildren are Josiah, Serenity, Xavier, Isaiah, Khloe and Joel. She is also survived by two sisters Cecilia Dubois and children Larry Joe and Alisa/Regina Tavarez, husband Arturo and children Arturo Jr. and Kris. She will be dearly missed by her sister-in-law Betty Garcia.

Gloria’s parents George and Jane Aragon, her daughter Annette and son Frank Jr. preceded her in death.
