A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at St. Catherines Catholic Church in Hagerman for Gloria B. Carabajal, 80, of Hagerman, who passed away January 30, 2010 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at St. Catherines Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Gloria was born on March 30, 1929 in Ojinaga, Mexico to Domingo Bustamante and Guadalupe Nunez Bustamante. Her parents have preceded her in death. As well as her first husband: Manuel Madrid a son: Joe Ray a daughter: Amelia Medrano a brother: Eliodoro Bustamante and a grandchild: David Medrano.
Gloria is survived by her sons: Reinaldo Madrid and wife Lydia of Roswell, Daniel Madrid of Roswell her daughter: Maria Lucero and husband Joe of Dexter, NM her brothers: Ruben Bustamante of Ojinaga, Mexico and Manuel Bustamante her sisters: Angelica Montoya of Ojinaga, Mexico her grandchildren: Monica Medrano, Marcos and Gabriel Madrid, Kristy Madrid, Reynaldo Madrid Jr., Michelle Nelson and Jocelyn Lucero her great grandchildren: Breanna Madrid, Annalicia Arabella Madrid, Alec Madrid, Jacob Madrid, Jon Taylor Nelson, and Sean Tyler Nelson her niece: Rosa Trivizo of Hagerman as well as several nieces and nephews.
Gloria has lived in Hagerman since 1957 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Catherines Catholic Church of Hagerman, Catholic Daughters, Legion of Mary and Crusillista.
Pallbearers will be Marcos Madrid, Gabriel Madrid, Reynaldo Madrid, Ralph Romero, Juan Ramon Trivizo, Jaime Bustamante, Robert Romero and Ruben Montoya. Honorary Pallbearers will be the grandchildren.
