Glenda English Hoogestraat

With heavy hearts we announce the death of Glenda English Hoogestraat, 76 who passed away on February 5, 2024 surrounded by family.

Glenda was predeceased by her parents, Delbert and Elva English as well as her siblings Wynona Morgan, Bill English, Kenneth English, James Truman English, and Evelyn Grissom. Her son Bryan Fowler and her grandson Christopher Hamilton have also passed away.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil Hoogestraat; daughter Shawna Hamilton; grandchildren Abby Hamilton, Harrison Hamilton, Kandace Ewing, Jett Fowler, Hunter Fowler, and Celeste McGettigan; great grandchildren Emma, Maddie, and Brookes Ewing; siblings Sue Reed, Jeryl D. English, Melba Harris, Dale English, Jacque Fowler, and Bobby Dean English as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving her are sisters-In-Law Donnis Reese, Cheryl Zwart, and Sheila West.

Glenda graduated from Dexter Public Schools. She was a lifelong learner and continued her education at ENMU-R. Among other jobs, she worked at Motor Coach Industries, TMC until retirement where she enjoyed travel with her husband, Virgil. Glenda resided in Roswell, NM, Lubbock, TX, and Los Alamos, NM. Glenda considered her biggest accomplishment her children and the love and joy that they brought to her. She was very involved in their lives and supported their activities. She was very proud of her family. Glenda was much beloved by her husband, family, and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Ballard Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, February 9, 2024 at Hagerman Cemetery.
