Glen Fleming
Glen Fleming was born August 11, 1921 in Groesbeck, Limestone County, Texas and lived in Texas until about the age of 10 when the family moved to New Mexico. In 1940 he took a job with Bethlehem Steel in San Francisco, CA as an electrician. His friends in CA knew him by the nickname of Buddy. He then returned to New Mexico with his former wife Afton. His former wife Afton and Glen were blessed with seven children. Daughter Carol lives in Texas and daughter Debra lives in Montana. Sons Dale and David and daughter Denise live in Oregon, and sons Dana and Gary live in California. During the 1950s Glen worked on the Hubb Corn Ranch as a cowboy. After that the family moved near Roseburg, Oregon for a period of time on a ranch they owned. Several of the sons returned to NMMI to go to school. Later, he would marry his wife Estrella in the Philippines in 1992. They would live for a few years in Roseburg, Oregon and then they moved to the Dexter and Roswell areas in 2000 where he built their house and also worked as a cabinet maker. He and his wife Estrella attended Seventh Day Adventist on Union Street. He died from cancer complications November 12, 2008. Please make contributions in lieu of flowers to either Vista Care to continue Hospice care for others or to the Seventh Day Adventist Community Services Fund. Local arrangements are under the direction of Ballard Funeral Home and Crematory. There will be a memorial service and potluck on Sunday at 1:00 P.M., November 16 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church corner of Union and Jaffa Streets.
