Gilbert Romero, 47, passed away at his home on April 9, 2009. A rosary is scheduled for Monday, April 13, 2009 at the Ballard Funeral Home Chapel at 7:00 PM. A funeral mass is scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 12:10 PM at the Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Gilbert was born on May 19, 1961 to Joe and Eufemia Romero in Roswell, NM. Gilbert was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Eufemia Romero of Roswell, NM; his 4 children: Monica Jaramillo of Mesa, AZ, Robert Romero of Mesa, AZ, Gilbert Romero, Jr. of Mesa, AZ, and Rebecca Romero of Waco, TX; his 5 brothers and sisters: Louie Romero of Roswell, NM, Evelyn and her husband, Danny Longoria, of Mesa, AZ, Lisa and her husband, Manuel Medina, of Roswell, NM, Felix and his wife, Theresa Romero, of Mesa, AZ, and Roque Romero of Roswell, NM; 7 grandchildren: Dominic and Mariah Andazola, Robert Jr. and Mia Romero, Isaiah, and Gilbert III, and Anastasia Romero.

Gilbert loved to spend time with his children and grand children. He especially liked going to auctions with his Uncle Lou. Gilbert was a loving person with a strong heart.

Pallbearers will be Gilbert Romero, Jr., Robert Romero, Roque Romero, Felix Romero, Lou Madril, and Jimmy Madril. Honorary pallbearers will be Louie Romero, Danny Longoria, Manuel Medina, Roque Ray Romero, Faustino Ortiz, Armando Medina, and Sammy Gamboa.
