Gregoria Georgia De La Rosa

A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 11, 2010 at the St. Catherines Catholic Church in Hagerman for Georgia De La Rosa, 84, of Hagerman who passed away Thursday, June 09, 2010 at her home. A funeral mass is scheduled for 9:00 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2010 at St. Catherines Catholic Church. Fr. Brian Guerrini, SS.CC. will officiate. Burial will follow at Hagerman Cemetery.
Georgia was born on November 21, 1925 in Saragosa, TX. to Juan Barela and Juana Brijalba. Georgia married Martin De La Rosa on May 3, 1942 he preceded her in death in 2003. Also preceding her in death are her parents, her brother Reyes, and sister Elena.
Georgia is survived by her sons: Ishmael De La Rosa and wife Sammye of Mountainair, NM, Henry De La Rosa of Hagerman, NM, Martin De La Rosa Jr. and wife Judy of Hagerman, NM. Daughter Mary Ann Waide and husband Cliff of Hagerman, her brother Pat Barela and wife Rosa of Hagerman, as well as her grandchildren Pamela and Mike Sutton, Jessica and Mat Kirk, Megan De La Rosa and Michael and Angela Waide.
Georgia was a housewife and was a lifelong resident of Hagerman, NM. She was of the catholic faith and was a member of St. Catherines Catholic Church. Georgia was known for her cooking and also a mother figure to many of the kids in the Hagerman community.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Barela, Adam Barela, Joaquin Arredondo, Ramon Gutierrez, Lieandro Gutierrez, Arcario Gutierrez and George Finley.
