A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 22, 2010 at South Park Cemetery for Georgia F. EvansBaker, 67 of Roswell who passed away February 17, 2010 at a local care center. Dr. Onsy Whicker will officiate. Ms. Baker will lie in state starting 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Ballard Funeral Home. Family will greet friends and family from 24 on Sunday February 21, 2010.
Georgia was born on January 29, 1943 in Roswell, NM to Glenn Collins and Jewell Mullenix Collins. Her parents have preceded her in death as well as a brother Junior Collins.
Georgia is survived by James Evans whom she was married to for 34 years and then was married to Herbert Baker for 3 years. She is also survived by her sons: Darrell Evans and wife Tammy of Roswell and Roger Evans and his fianc Kim her grandchildren: Cheyenne and her children: Shannah, Justice, Kadence and Savannah Brandie and her children: McKayla and McKenzie and Kellie and her daughter: Haylie.
Georgia was a life long resident of Roswell and worked as a home health care nurse for over 8 years. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed talking care of people.
