Frankie Gonzales

August 12, 1969 — October 28, 2006

Frankie Gonzales

Beloved son, father, and friend

A rosary will be recited for Frankie Gonzales on Friday, November 3, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Johns Catholic Church, who passed away October 28, 2006. A funeral mass will be held at St. Johns Catholic Church on Saturday, November 4, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. Fr. Juan Montoya O.F.M. will officiate. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Frankie was born in Roswell, NM on August 12, 1969 to Frank and Virginia Brady Gonzales, and was a life-long resident of Roswell. Frankie was preceded in death by his grandparents; Abel Daddy Bill and Augustina Brady of Roswell, and Francisco Gonzales Sr. of San Antonio, TX.

Frankie is survived by his parents, Frank and Virginia, grandmother; Josefa Sifuentes of San Antonio, TX, his high school sweetheart; Maxine Chavez and their daughter Destini Gonzales; sisters, Gloria Duran and her husband Eddy-Ray of Roswell, Monica Rodriguez and her husband Jose of Austin, TX, Yvonne Gonzales and partner Adrian Castro of Roswell; and brother, Johnny Noko Gonzales of Roswell; god-daughters, JoAnn Duran and Leeandra Chavez of Roswell; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Frankie was employed by the City of Roswell-Street Department. He was involved in many community activities and also with car clubs of Roswell.

He brought love, laughter, humor and joy to everyone who knew him. He was the life of the party and a legend of his own. His joys and love of his life was his daughter, Desi, his 64 Chevy Impala, his new Harley and his family and friends.

It is a comfort to the family to know that his last day on earth was the happiest day of his life. He started his day volunteering his time cleaning up a site in Chihuahuita. He visited with an old childhood friend from out of town who showed up unexpectedly just to see him that day. He made the comment to friends how beautiful the day was. He was approached by some Mormons that morning, and he took the time to talk to them and to let them know from the words out of his mouth, I have Jesus in my heart. All his friends that either saw him or spoke to him on his last day on earth tell us that Frankie was very happy. God was preparing our son for his final destination, Heaven.

Pallbearers will be his childhood friends; Armando Arrendondo, Mark King, Bobby Munoz, Ralph Morones, Johnny Allen; Johnny Gonzales nephew, Chris Otero and Robert Anaya close-friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Gonzales brother and his co-workers from the city.
