Frankie Cole was 72 years old when she died peacefully on November 29, 2011 after a severe stroke. She was in the care of Casa Maria Health Care Center in Roswell, New Mexico when she went to heaven to be with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Daily she read her One Year Bible when she was in her home.

She was born on September 29, 1939 in San Antonio, New Mexico to her parents, Claud and Sarah Alice Brookey. She attended school in Fort Sumner, New Mexico and graduated from Fort Sumner High School in May, 1958. She attended Beauty Salon College to be beautician. Her first job started in October 1961. She had worked in different Beauty Salons for about forty years. Her last work was at Sherrill Lane Beauty Salon on Sherill Lane Street in Roswell, NM. She was married to Edwin Alvin Cole at a Methodist Church on October 28, 1961 on West 19th St in Roswell, NM. She had three children, Richard Anthony Cole in Roswell, NM, Claudia Alice Brawley in Manassas, VA and Elizabeth Ann Cole in Roswell, NM. After her children were born she became an earnest advocate for the Deaf always using sign language with us while we grew up. She was a loving mother, aunt, cousin, coworker and friend and will be missed by those who knew her. She had been a longtime member of the Roswell Association for the Deaf for over thirty years.

She is survived by her oldest brother, Dorman Brookey in Las Cruces, NM. Also her children, grandchildren, Krista, Charles, Shebly and Samuel, her nephews, nieces, cousins, her special cousin, Thomas Ketchum, brothers and sisters in law, son and daughter in law and many closest friends who knew her, too. A few years ago she began her work with diligence to research our family tree of Brookey, Ketchum and Cole. She had so many stories and she shared with anyone who would listen.

We invite you to our Memorial Service for Frankie B. Cole on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11 am at Tabernacle Bapist Church on 115 West 11th St, Roswell, NM. Our closest friend, Rev. Louis Red Flett will share with us from Gods word and celebrate the life she lived during her time on earth.
