Frank "Kiko" Vasquez, 75, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 21, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Cecelia Vasquez of 23 years.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Isabell Vasquez; son, Frank Vasquez Jr.; brothers, Mike Vasquez and Albert Vasquez; sister, Belia and Felimon Acevedo; also, his nephew, Arthur Acevedo and great-niece, Jessica Acevedo; in-laws, Ignacio and Arcenia Ortiz, Henry Ortiz, Ismael Ortiz and Juana Ortiz.
Frank is survived by his children, Julia and Tim Ferguson; Tom and Joann Cruz of Denver, Colo.; and Shelly and Net Lopez of Las Vegas, Nevada and their children whom he loved dearly; his children, Rose Vasquez, Leroy and Jeanette Vasquez and their children of Denver, Col; Frances Trujillo and family of Arizona; Jennifer Vasquez of California. Also surviving him are his in-laws Vicki Yates of Castroville, California; Josephine Maes, John Ortiz, Manuel Ortiz, Robert and Vera Ortiz, Faustino and Julia Ortiz; Olivia Gallegos and Randy Ray; Sophia and Joe Artiaga, all of Roswell; his nephews, Mike Acevedo, Larry and Brenda Acevedo; Sylvia Mendoza, Liz Aguilar and their extended families. He was proud that he was their last surviving uncle and enjoyed their visits.
Frank leaves behind nephews, nieces and many countless friends, all his "chiwawenyo" homies, Juanito, Farmer, Richard, and Veita, just to name a few. He loved to ride around to see if he could see anyone sitting outside so he could visit and reminisce on the good ole days. He liked to watch TV and smoke his "funny cigarettes". He was never without his dog, Petrie, who talked with him all day and always tasted his food for him and if Petrie didn't like it, Frank wouldn't eat it.
Pallbearers will be, Larry Acevedo, Mike Acevedo, Joe Artiaga, Randy Ray, Tim Ferguson and Serafin Archuleta.
Honorary pallbearers will be, Manuel Ortiz, Robert Ortiz, and Tom Cruz.
A rosary for Frank will be recited at 7:00 PM, Friday, September 25, 2015 at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery. The family would like to invite friends and family to gather after services on Saturday at the Juan Montoya Building at St. John's to share stories and memories during a meal.
