Fernando Urquides Jr.
Fernando Urquides Jr., 55, passed away at Eastern New Mexico Medical Cneter on February 11, 2008 surrounded by his loving family and friends. Fernando is survived in the family home by his loving wife of 32 years, Martha E. Urquides, daughter Martha D. Staab and Son- in- Law United States Marine PFC Jarrod B. Staab who is currently stationed in Camp Lajune North Carolina.
Fernando was born to Fernando Urquidez Sr., and Delia Urquidez on September 23, 1952. Fernando is preceded in death by his dad, grandfather, Desiderio Apodacca and Nephew Johnathan Scott.
Fernando is survived by his sisters, Connie Sedill and husband Wilford of Roswell, Anna Mitchell of Kansas, and Brother Rick Urquides of Roswell, along with numerous Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews and cousins.
Fernando was a friend to everyone he know. He was a pleasure to be around with his constant joking and smiles. The three loves in his life were his wife, daughter and the Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge. You could count on Fernando being in front of the television watching football, enjoying movies and westerns. He also enjoyed hobbies that included woodworking, anything wildlife and his John Deer Tractor collection.
Fernando was employed with the Bitter Lakes National Wildlife Refuge for 20 years prior to becoming ill. Even though his illness, Fernando still manager to go to the refuge to work on unfinished projects. Fernando was surrounded by his best friends with at the refuge. Prior to that, Fernando was employed in the farming industry for numerous years.
The rosary will be recited on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Ballard Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at Ballard Funeral Home Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Deacon Enrique Salas of St. Johns Catholic Church will officiate. This is a fitting day for the funeral as he is well loved and will be dearly missed.
Pall bearers will be Milton Harper, Bill Williams, Tim George, Greg Barela, Richard Gonzales and Steve Alvarez.
Honorary Pallbearers will be, Daniel Urquidez, Rick Urquides, Jarrod B. Staab, Larry Ulabarri and Dewayne Beagles.

I want to thank God for giving me the time I spent with my Daddy. I love you and thank you for everything you have done for me. I miss you and will forever be in my heart.
