Evia Otero

Vigil service with rosary is scheduled for 9 am, Saturday, October 26, 2013 with the funeral mass following at 10 am, at St. Peters Catholic Church with Father Charlie Martinez officiating. Evia Otero, 77, who passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Evi was cremated according to her wishes, she will be placed in the Columbarium at St. Peters Catholic Church.

Evi was born in Mayo, Florida to Ike and Ocie Ovida Williams. Her parents preceded her in death. Evi was also preceded in death by her son Darryl Otero brothers Lester Williams and Harry Williams sisters Louise W. Smith and Lorene Williams and granddaughter Abigail Martinez.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Lloyd Otero of Roswell, NM son Gregory Otero and wife Jill of Tucson, AZ daughter Melissa Sanders and husband Rick of Roswell, NM brother R.L. Williams of West Palm Beach, FL sister Thelma Jean Langan husband Paul of Jacksonville Beach, FL grandchildren Myles Mitchell and wife Trina of Clovis, NM, Marcus Otero, Bailey Martinez and Macey Martinez all of Roswell, NM, Kodi Otero of Tucson, AZ, PVT Reese Otero serving in South Korea stationed at Camp Hovey, Layne Sanders and Luke Sanders of Roswell, NM and her great grandchildren Karlie, Trevon, Skylynn and Colton Mitchell.

Evi was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. She was a school bus driver for thirtysix years and also a waitress at the Roswell Inn and Sally Port Inn for many years. Evi loved to play bingo. Evi will be deeply missed by all who loved her and knew her.

The family will like to give special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for their loving care of Evi and all of her friends who stopped by to check on her including special friends Ralph and Gloria Fresquez.

Reception to follow at 1700 South Eisenhower Road, home of Raulie and Judy Otero for friends and family.
