Evelyn Faye Swann

Evelyn Faye Swann (Callaway), 82, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 21, 2020.

Evelyn was born the third of eleven children to Jack and Pluma Callaway on August 4, 1938 in Winser, OK. On December 13, 1955, Evelyn went on to marry the love of her life, William Swann Jr, in Albuquerque, NM, they were married for 64 years. In 1963, William and Evelyn opened Swanns Transmission on 109 East McGaffey Street in Roswell, NM. In 1980 Evelyn opened the very first Christian Gift Shop in Roswell, next door to the transmission shop. Evelyn had very strong faith in the Lord, she would stop and pray for anybody and everybody no matter where she was. She had a hand in helping many people find their faith in the Lord. Evelyn was loved and cherished by everyone. She loved spending time with all her family but in her final time, she loved spending time with her great grandchildren, it was the light of her day.

Left behind to cherish Evelyn’s memory are her husband William Swann Jr; daughters Michele Silva and husband Jesse, Vickie Niec and husband, Bob; son William Swann III and wife Rene. Nine grandchildren: Shane Willis Jr, Khristian Silva, Haley Silva, Kaylea Silva, Jeremiah Niec, Michelle Saul, William Swann IV, Audrey Swann, and Amanda Swann. Nine great grandchildren: Connor Silva, Kayson Johnson-Silva, Maleynigh Silva, Jacob Swann, Austin Swann, Landon Swann, Elisha Swann, Eva Swann, and William Swann V. Sisters Betty Bush (Mike), Glenda Barrow, Sue Vansickle; brothers; Joe Callaway (Frances), Danny Callaway;  sisters-in-law Brenda Callaway, Doris Callaway and Erleen Andreas and one brother-in-law Jimmy Ray Swann, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Preceding Evelyn in death were her parents: Jack and Pluma Callaway; grandchildren Jessica Niec and Mere Contreras; special friend Debbie Jean Silva; sister Kathy Callaway and Shirley Sears Kidder; brothers Bill Callaway, Jerry Callaway and Jim Callaway; sister-in-law Janie Callaway and brothers-in-law Wes Barrow, Jim Vansickle, Steve Kidder, Steve Andreas and Don Sears.

Bill Swann would like to give a special thank you to Jesse and Michele Silva for all the love and care for the last eight years that they gave to Evelyn and a special thank you to Khristian Silva, Haley Silva and Michelle Saul for being there anytime we needed.

Evelyn is greatly loved and will be missed very dearly.

There will be no services held at this time for Evelyn.
