A wonderful mother, grandmother and friend passed away on July 31, 2013. Eva Lujan Herrera Mamalita born in Roswell, NM on May 31, 1913 to Manuel Lujan and Maria Flaco. She has enriched so many lives. Her kindness and love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and her great generosity and passion for her community will be missed.
She survived her first husband Manual Flores, was married to Pedro Franco and Robert Herrera. All three of her husbands have preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother Abel Lujan, an infant sister Manuelita, her four sons Usvaldo Franco, Pedro N. Franco Jr. Antonio Flores, and Luis Flores and a soninlaw Joe Mendiola. She was also preceded in death by four Grand kids and one greatgrand child.
She is survived by her sons Richard Franco, wife Mary Pedro L. Franco, wife Marsie daughters Helen Mendiola, Mary Alvarado, husband Anthony Esperanza Hope Sombke, husband Jim daughter in laws Virgie Flores and Carlota Flores and sister inlaw, Ester Lujan. She has been blessed with 36 grandchildren, 91 great grandchildren, 110 great, great grandchildren with one on the way and 10 great, great, great grandchildren with two on the way.
Friends may call on the family at Ballard Funeral Home in the afternoon on Friday, August 2, 2013. Ballard is located at 910 South Main, Roswell NM 88201. Friends wishing to visit the family may also visit at 413 E. Bland, Roswell.
Funeral services will be on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, 2201 W. Country Club Road. Viewing at the church will be held at 9:00 am and the Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. After the burial a reception will follow at 413 E. Bland, Roswell.
Serving as Pallbearers are Danny Mendiola, Jimmy Sombke, Joe Mendiola, Reynaldo Mendiola, Raymond Franco and Richard Franco. The honorary Pallbearer is Luis Flores.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her Gentiva Hospice Health Care providers: Anita Marrujo, Vonda Hite, Rosalia Bravo, and Alma Alvarado. They provided outstanding care and love to our mother.
