Esequiel Chavez

Mr. Esequiel Chavez, 94, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Esequiel was born September 15, 1919 in Carrizozo, NM to Saturnino Chavez and Margaret VanSycle Chavez who preceded him in death. A private family gathering will take place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 75 years, Angelita Chavez daughter Stella Vasquez and husband Horacio, son George Chavez and wife Ann, son Saturnino Chavez and wife Sondra, daughter Fatima Barnes and husband Jimmy, and son Gerry Chavez and wife Rebecca. He also had 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Esequiel served his country during WWII in the US Navy he retired as an electrical engineer in 1980 from White Sands Missile Range. He played golf for over thirty years at Spring River. Esequiel enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and soninlaws. He would donate his fishing catch to the Poor Claire Monastery. Esequiel was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who will be missed deeply.
