Ernesto Salinas
Was born on April 19, 1936 in Roswell New Mexico, and went to heaven on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.
Ernesto was preceded by his parents, Victor and Epifania Salinas, his brother, Joe Salinas and his sister, Rachel Salinas.
He is survived by his siblings, Ernestina Crawford and Mary Helen Smith; his daughters, Sydney Burris, Felicia Peters and Tricia Dona, and seven grandchildren.
Ernesto received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University after which he served 37 years as an Engineer. He was asked to join General Dynamics where he worked on large projects such as the Tomahawk missile, the Global Positioning System (GPS), the Viking 2 Mars Orbiter/Lander, the Advanced Cruise Missile, The B2 Bomber and the Space Shuttle Columbia. Ernesto moved with General Dynamics as it was changed to GDE Systems where he retired on August 2001.
Ernesto was a loyal friend, generous to those that needed help and cared greatly for his family. He was loved by many and had a cheerful disposition. A wonderful man who will be greatly missed.
The Celebration of Life service will be held at El Calvario Baptisto, Saturday, April 9, 2016 at 3:00 pm with Eugene De Los Santos officiating.
