A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 400 W. 6th St. Dexter, NM for Ernest Joseph Ray Silvas 19, of Dexter who passed away on September 10, 2010. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hagerman Cemetery.
Ernest was born Jan. 16, 1991, in Roswell to Ernesto and Martina Silvas.
Survivors include parents, Ernesto and Martina Silvas both of Dexter, sisters, Stephanie Silvas and Daniella Silvas, and brother, Brandon Silvas grandparents, Raymundo and Santos Acosta Yrigollen, and Juan and Jovita Silvas maternal aunts Beatrice Renteria Artesia, and husband Rogelio, Veronica Renteria Artesia and husband Leony, and uncle, Lorenso Yrigollen Artesia and partner Marie paternal aunts Andrea Sanchez Midway and husband Raul, Sharon Tavarez Dexter and husband Al and uncle Roberto Silvas Dexter and wife Lucy and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his greatgrandparents, Jacobo and Consepsion Carrillo, Francisca and Triodoro Silvas, Donaciano and Martha Acosta, and Pedro Yrigollen and Gregoria Marquez greatuncles, Paz Carillo, Ejeno Montanez, Ramon Julian, and Domingo Silvas greataunt, Fernanda Aguirre cousin, Martha Mata and close friend, Gilbert Rodriguez.
Ernest loved his music, practical jokes, basketball and dancing, but mostly he loved his family and friends. His love for his family was shown through his kind and loving nature. That same nature made it possible for Ernest to befriend everyone that crossed his path. His favorite saying was love for life.
His funny personality and big heart will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Perez, Pedro Gutierrez, Jonny Silvas II, Javier Sanchez, Isreal Marquez, Jeremy Torrez, Robert Silvas, and James Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearer will be Christian Gonzales.
