Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother passed from this life peacefully at her home in Roswell, New Mexico on November 23, 2008, only to brighten up another place more perfect and
ine.

Emma was born July 2, 1915 to Clifford Curry and Aurora Gonzales in San Patricio, New Mexico. She came from a pioneering family who settled in the Lincoln County area in the mid 1800s.

Emma and Ruben Sr. were married in 1936 in Sunset, New Mexico and made their home in Picacho, New Mexico until 1943. They then relocated to Roswell, New Mexico where Emma remained until her passing.

Her husband, Ruben Sr., her parents, Clifford and Aurora, a brother, Sisfredo Romero, a sister, Ameritana Chavez, and a son-in law Richard Anderson, preceded her in death.

Surviving relatives include:

Sons: Luis Pineda and wife Socorro, and Ruben Pineda Jr., both of Roswell. Daughters: Tonita Eramaa and husband Ulo Eramaa of Salinas, CA., Irene Pineda of Alamogordo, and Martha Anderson of Roswell. Adopted daughter and granddaughter Ginger Pineda. Emma is also survived by sisters Trene Sanchez and Erlinda Lucero of San Patricio.

Brothers-in-Law: David Salas and wife Mary, Lutario Pineda and wife Marie, Alex Pineda and wife Susie, Tommy Pineda, and Zeke Pineda.

Sisters-in-Law: Lucia Romero, Lore Ortega, Vitalia Gonzales and husband Juan, Mary Pineda, Elma Lara, and Bella Montgomerywho all affectionately referred to her as sister.

25 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great granddaughter also survive Emma.

Emma was a homemaker and an active member in her community and church. She was a proud member of the Guadalupana Society. She worked as a foster grandparent for 16 years with Tabosa, Head Start, and various grade schools in Roswell. Her students affectionately called her Grandma Emma. She was also involved with the Senior Citizen Joy Center. Despite all these activities, she also managed to find time to volunteer at St Marys Hospital Auxiliary and at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center Gift Shop and thrift stores.

A rosary will be held 7:00p.m., Thursday, November 27, 2008, at St. Johns Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be held 10:00a.m., Friday, November 28, 2008 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Deacon Jesus Herrera of St. Johns Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Emma will lie in state on November 26, 2008 at the Ballard Funeral Home from 10:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Gracie Pineda, Johnny Ray DeLaCruz, Anthony McWilliams, Richard Eramaa, Micheal Pineda, and Ginger Pineda.

Honorary Pall Bearers are the Guadalupana Society as well as Emmas 16 Granddaughters.

The family would like thank Doctor Reynaldo Martinez, the Vista Care caregivers, especially Frances Olivas, Dan Sullivan, Letty Tellez and Belen Nava.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Emmas name to the Poor Claire Monastery, 809 E. 19th St., Roswell, Nm 88201.
