Elizabeth Ann Papworth
A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Assumption Catholic Church for Elizabeth Ann Papworth, 67 of Northport, Alabama who passed away February 21, 2010. A funeral mass is scheduled for 12:10, Friday, March 5, 2010 at Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Following the service the family will receive friends and family at 3214 Nottinghill, Roswell, NM the home of Mike and Candy Stephens.
Elizabeth was born on August 16, 1942 in Roswell, NM to B.H. Bill Thorne and Laura Elizabeth Thornton Thorne. Her parents have preceded her in death as well as a brother W.E. Thorne and a sister, Gloria Look.
Elizabeth married Fred Papworth on April 27, 1974 in Roswell. Her husband survives her at the family home.
Elizabeth is also survived by her sons: Tom Papworth and his wife Ericka of Huntsville, Alabama, Brian Papworth and his wife Mardi of Albuquerque, NM and Brad Vallem and his wife Tammy of Stewartsville, NJ her sister: Shirley Guy of Fayetteville, North Carolina her sister in law: Cathy Thorne of Las Vegas, NV as well as nine grandchildren.
Elizabeth lived in Roswell until 2001 and was a member of the Roswell Social Order of Beauceants, the Roswell Garden Club, and an active past member of the Noon Optimist Little League Board.
Pallbearers will be James Martin, Jon Coll, Pete Cassen, Pug Thigpen, Johnny Sandoval, Frank Lilley, Mike Stephens and Kenneth Barbe.
