Eleanor Nanny Richmond

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery for Eleanor Nanny Richmond, 88 of Roswell who passed away January 14, 2009 at her home. There will be visitation for Eleanor on Saturday and Sunday at the Ballard Funeral Home from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Eleanor was born on September 16, 1920 in Roswell, NM to James H. Woodward and Nellie Willison Woodward. Her parents have preceded her in death as well as one daughter: Pauline Kimball; two grandchildren: Sarah Ann and Clara Ann Kimball; two sisters: Hazel Woodward and Isabel Mabry; one niece: Barbara Jean Large; one nephew: Norwood Mabry Jr.

Eleanor married Thomas F. Richmond on February 14, 1959. He preceded her in death on January 16, 1995.

Eleanor is survived by grandson: Louis Kimball III of Westcliffe, CO; her granddaughters: Nancy Flinn and husband Russell of Westcliffe, CO, Muriel Newling and husband Don of Roswell, NM, Nellie Carson and husband Dan of El Paso, TX and Margaret Crosswhite of Lubbock, TX; her great grandchildren: Mesha, Rusti, Tory Crosswhite, Alex and Howie Kimball, Ashley and Zachary Flinn; great, great grandchildren: Haley and Hannah Mora; great nieces and nephews: Kathy and Kenneth Sanchez, Lisa and Johnny Padilla of Belen, Dale Large of Lawton, OK; as well as numerous great, great nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was a life long resident of Roswell. She retired from the Civil Service as a Book keeper. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Social Order of Beauceants, American Legion Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary and the Masonic Widows Club.
