September 23, 1971 — November 20, 2014

Durrell Lee Seyler passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014.
Lee was born September 23, 1971 in Deming to Thomas W. Seyler, Sr. and Julia Seyler. His father preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Robin WiggsSeyler of Roswell, NM mother Julia Seyler of Jal, NM son Joshua Lee Seyler of Fayetteville, NC stepson Jacob Wiggs of Lemoore, CA sister Suzette Hunt and husband Mike of Winchester, TN sister Mellisa Shuman and husband Jon of Valdosta, GA brother Thomas Seyler and wife Amy of Andrews, TX, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lee lived in Roswell for the past eight years. He worked as the CaptainChief of Security at the Roswell Correctional Center from 2006 until 2014. Prior to living in Roswell, Lee proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1991 to 1995. Upon completion of service to his country, Lee began his career in Corrections in 1998 with the Geo Group at the Lea County Correctional Facility. There, he served as Correctional Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant and Captain before leaving the private prison in 2006 to continue his career at RCC. Lee was well respected for his loyalty and passion for his profession, and he deeply loved working in Corrections. He always strived to do the right thing and instill a sense of pride in his Officers and fellow coworkers. Lee also took great pleasure in cooking and barbequing for his friends and family. Nothing made him happier than to fire up the smoker, have a drink with friends and shoot a game of pool.

Lees passing was sudden and tragic and has left so many hurting. He will be missed greatly. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors, PO Box 758517, Roswell, NM 88202 or any Veterans support organization of your choice.

At Lees request, a service will not held. Close friends and family will gather at the family home on Sunday, November 23, 2014 starting around 12:00 p.m. to share in a salute to a remarkable man gone much too soon.
