Services for Dorothy Burr Kaufmann will be held Thursday, July 12, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church.

Dorothy Burr Kaufmann passed away peacefully on July 3, 2007 in Roswell, New Mexico. Dorothy was born April 10, 1921 in Vermillion, Minnesota to Louis and Elizabeth Fasbender. Both parents preceded her in death. Dorothy graduated from Hastings High School, Hastings, MN and attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis.

On September 26, 1942 in Santa Monica, CA she married Stephen Burr, formerly of Hasting, died in Roswell November 21, 1980. On July 12, 1988 Dorothy married Charles F. Kaufmann. Charles died in Roswell June 17, 1996. Dorothy is survived by sisters, Mary Jane Poepl Francis J. of Hastings, Minnesota; Lois M. Schoen Richard J. deceased of Roswell, NM; and Virginia M. Goedken Ronald E. of Eagan, MN; nieces Mary F. Spartz Donald, Susan J. Poepl, Jeanne Poepl, Ann Edwardson John, Mary Goedken, deceased; nephews John Poepl, Mary Pat, Ronald J. Goedken Susan, Scott Schoen Mary Lee, and Robert S. Goedken Carolyn, grand nieces Kimberly Curtis Tuley, Amanda Brandon Arnold and Meagan Brandon Brown of Amarillo, TX and numerous grandnieces and nephews.

Stephen and Dorothy were former owners of the S and A Variety Store in Roswell and Burrs Department Store in Roswell. Dorothy was a bookkeeper for 26 years at Roswell Radiology Associates until her retirement in January, 1992. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Scott and Mary Lee Schoen and Lois Schoen of Roswell, the staff of Villa Del Rey, Dr. Fenzi and Casa Maria Health Center.
