Dora Aragon Gutierrez
A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Wednesday October 24, 2007 at St. Johns Catholic Church for Dora Aragon Gutierrez, 97, of Roswell who passed away, Monday, October 22, 2007 at her residence. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 25, 2007 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Dora was born on June 5, 1910 in Yeso, New Mexico to Doroteo and Amelia Weaver Aragon. Her parents have preceded her in death.
Dora married Manuel Gutierrez on February 28, 1928 in Rolls, Texas. Her husband has preceded her in death as well as three sons: Manuel Gutierrez Jr., Isidoro Gutierrez, and Doroteo Gutierrez; one daughter: Ruby Kisner; two sisters: Lilly Cobos and Cruzita Gonzales, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Dora is survived by her sons: Lieandro Gutierrez, his wife Connie, Gene Gutierrez and wife Phyllis; her daughter: Dora Gonzalez and husband Clifford Jr. Daughter-in-laws: Sheila Gutierrez, Mary Helen Nena Gutierrez, and Minda Gutierrez, a sister: Isidorita Ramirez, 24 grandchildren, 50 great grand children and 21 great, great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Dora worked as a Seamstress, she was a member of the Guadalupanas for many years. She also spent many years enjoying all activities at the Roswell Joy Center. What she loved the most was listening and dancing to her husband and sons music. She will be missed by her family and friends, she was a terrific mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Via con Dios mi querida mama
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Clifford Gonzalez III, Gene Gutierrez Jr., Andy Gutierrez, Ray Gutierrez, Dennis Gutierrez and nephew Henry Cobos
