Jo was born on November 10, 1927 in Crane, Missouri to Don C. and Mattie (Field) Wright. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Roberta (Berry) Wright, sister Jean (Wright) and husband Lloyd Washington, brother John Wright, and nephew Tom Croissant.
Jo is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, Ralph; son Don (Joyce) and his children Jenny, Emily and Tim; daughters Barbara and daughter Joanna; Janet (Tom) Brandt and daughter Emma; Susan (Tony) Lewon and daughter Annie and great grandsons Aidan and Riley. She is also survived by sister-in-law Marbeth (Petit) Wright Johnson and her daughters Amanda (Brian) Stenstrom and family and Melissa (Ray) Deeter and family; niece Rena (Kevin) Campbell and family and nephews Mark and David Washington.
Jo and Ralph were married on April 25, 1948 in Roswell. They moved to Denver, Colorado where Ralph attended Denver University. Upon graduation, they returned to Roswell and started a family.
Jo was involved in the Wilson-Cobb History and Genealogy Library, Los Pocos miniature club, and Democratic Women of Chaves County. She met many people along the way who became close friends.
She will be remembered for her love of family, gardening, nature, and beauty and her ability to accept anyone for who they were.
Graveside services will held on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at South Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Wilson-Cobb History and Genealogy Library.
