Diane Jordan Weed of Roswell NM passed away on Wednesday May 25, 2016 at the age of 85. She was born to Raymond and Mathilda Jordan on April 28 1931, both of whom have preceded her in death, in Bronxville NY.
Ms. Weed was a hardworking and character driven mother and wife. She was married to Richard Weed on October 19, 1958 and raised three sons. Diane loved her boys dearly and taught them success through love and guidance. She took great pride in her boys and made sure to tell everyone she knew about their accomplishments. Two of her boys, Scott and Kent, both graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1984 with degrees in mechanical engineering. Scott went on to earn a master's in systems engineering from California State Northridge in 1992 and an MBA from MIT in 2001. Scott and Kent have both served 32 years in their fields, Scott a civilian Navy employee and Kent in optics. Good parenting contributes to motivated and successful children.
Ms. Weed loved to paint and used oil paints to communicate her artistic passions. Cooking for a husband and three growing boys Diane never faulted to get a wonderful meal on the table. Some of her most loved signature dishes ranged from the try and true spaghetti dish, to the bolder beef stroganoff, and the classic New Mexican dish enchilada casserole. After retirement Mr and Mrs Weed traveled the USA. They would summer in their home in Nye Montana (outside of Billings) and travel south as fall turned into winter. The two of them loved seeing the country and their family and friends in their motor home.
Everyone who knew Mrs. Diane Weed knew her as a loving and caring person. She truly had the heart of a saint. She was kind and tender and had a deep faith and love for her God. She was raised in the Episcopal Church and was a member of the St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Roswell NM for the last 13 years.
Diane is survived by her three sons Scott and Kathy Weed with their daughter Jordan of Ridgecrest CA, Kent and Jane Weed and their children Erica and Jason of Corona CA, Troy and Jade Weed of Laguna Niguel CA. She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years Richard Weed of Roswell NM, her sister Justine Bruteig of Kelly Wyoming, and parents.
