A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel for Delia Robinson, 70 of Roswell, who passed away on September 2, 2010 in Lubbock, Texas. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. Officiating is Roe Vandenbout. A reception will follow at 900 E. Vista Parkway. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 5 from 12:00 to 7:00 and Monday, September 6 from 5:00 to 7:00.
Delia was born on January 27, 1940 to Joseph Varela and Rebecca Flores Varela in Roswell, NM. She married Esley Robinson on August 24, 1984. Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers: Davy Varela, Richard Varela, Abe Varela, George Varela, Servando Varela, and Jacob Varela and her sister, Emma Varela.
Delia is survived by her husband, Esley, Sons: Donald Varela and Christian Varela and wife, Lisa of Roswell Daughter: Celeste Becktold and husband, Tracy of Salem, Oregon Brother: Danny Varela and wife, Betty of Suncity, California Sister: Sally Graven of Roswell Grandchildren: Bernadette, Jasmine, Christian, Jr., Benjamin, Camille, Jennifer, Julianna, Cruz, Tasha, and Toby numerous nieces and nephews that she loved very much.
Delia was a homemaker and an active member in the Mesa Park Congregation Jehovah Witness Church of Roswell. She was an avid garage seller. She loved to bake and cook.
Pallbearers will be Thomas George Varela, Joseph Varela, Robert Tucker, Joseph Cloutier, Sam Cloutier, and Ben Cloutier. Honorary Pallbearers will be Noah Tucker and Dylan Tucker.
