David William Mayberry
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 20, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Ballard Funeral Chapel, for David William Mayberry 85, of Roswell who passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at his home. Dr. Ed Meyers of First Baptist Church will officiate.
David was born August 21, 1921 to Wilbur Hawkes and Nina Agnes Mayberry in Goshen, Indiana. Both his parents precede him in death as well as a brother Joseph Mayberry of Indiana and one daughter Susan Carol Mayberry.
David was married to Joan Faye Culp on July 2, 1954 in Indiana. She survives him at the family home.
He is also survived by two daughters: Rita Ann Menges and husband David of Goshen, Indiana, Jean Elaine Hollowell and husband Audie of Odessa, Texas and five grandchildren: Fredrick C. Welker, David J. Welker, Tamara J. Hollowell, Shelby E. Hollowell and Rebecca C. Deason.
David was involved actively in Boy Scouts in Indiana and in Roswell for many years and was a Red Cross instructor in Indiana. David was also a Truck Driver in Indiana and worked as a plumber in Indiana and in Roswell and retired to be a book keeper in Roswell .He was also active in the Optimist club here in Roswell. He was involved in the VFW Post 985 in Indiana. He was in the 66 infantry
ision Black Panthers in WWII. He served in England, Germany and France. He was a strong patriot and flew his flag every day.
