Darlene Rowell Contreras

Viewing will be held from 8:00 a.m. till 7:00 p.m. on April 21 and 22 at Ballard Funeral Home and Crematory for Darlene Rowell Contreras, 81, who passed away April 18, 2008 at a local nursing home. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Stanley Community Church in Stanley, New Mexico. Rev. Vic Jennings from Vacaville, CA will officiate. Burial will follow services at Stanley Cemetery.

Darlene was born on June 16, 1926 in Seneca, Missouri to Myrlen Rowell and Ada Ruggles. They both preceded her in death. During her childhood she grew up in Stanley, New Mexico, then lived in Vacaville, California for forty years upon retiring in Roswell, New Mexico in 1990. Darlene was a professional business woman and loved to travel.

She is survived by her daughters: Patricia Chandler of Roswell, NM, Pamela Davis and her husband Darryl of Pike, California; grandchildren: Shannon Davis of Portland, OR, Rhonda Olson and her husband Patrick of Roseville, CA, Erik Chandler, and Raquel Chandler both of Roswell; great-grandchildren: Justin Clark, Shane Clark, Passtgeane Chandler, Krae Chandler, and Mia Chandler. Darlene is also survived by her nieces; Denise Baldwin, and Debra Henry, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. And life long friend Reba Cardoza of Vacaville, CA.
