A memorial service is scheduled for 5 pm, Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Ballard Chapel for Darlene Chavez, 52, who passed away Sunday, March 18, 2012 at ENMMC with her husband at her side.

Darlene was born September 25, 1959 in Alamogordo, NM to Jimmy Chavez and Terry Reynolds Chavez. Her parents preceded her in death.

Darlene is survived by her husband Alfred Chavez of the family home in Roswell son Joshua A. Chavez of Tucson, AZ brothers Bobby Reynolds and wife Yvonne, Dave Reynolds and Alex Reynolds all of Albuquerque, NM sisters Genevieve Reynolds and Monica Reynolds of Albuquerque, NM aunts Adelina Connell of Roswell and Lucy Borunda of Alamogordo, NM and uncle Pete Borunda of Alamogordo, NM. She is also survived by two very close cousins Weda and Susie and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Darlene resided in Roswell for twenty years coming from Alamogordo. She was a homemaker and really enjoyed cooking, sewing and listening to music.
