Dan Vestal Jacobs
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00am, Friday, October 21, 2011 at Washington Avenue Baptist Church for Dan Vestal Jacobs 96, who passed away Saturday, October 15, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Pastor Randy Reeves will be officiating.

Dan was born January 17, 1915 in Marlow, Oklahoma to Albert C. and Sara Elizabeth Purcell Jacobs. His parents preceded him in death and his daughter Jody Guevara.

He is survived by his wife Lillie Jacobs of Roswell his children Shirlee Lewis, Jody Guevara, Rhonda Drinnen, Jimmy Jacobs, Daniel Joseph Jacobs Sr. and Mattie Casillas his grandchildren Jessica Smith, Amanda Smith, Suzie Garcia, Daniel Smith, Daniel Joseph Jacobs Jr., Joanna Garcia, Ashley Jacobs, Samuel Jacobs, Nathaniel Jacobs, Joshua Garcia, Madeline Casillas, Joe Jacobs, Danielle Jacobs, Sean Lewis, Isiah Jacobs, Mia Jacobs and Audrey Jacobs and fifteen great grandchildren.

Dan lived in Roswell since 1942 coming from Oklahoma. He worked as a laborer in construction. Dan served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He loved to go to the Capitan Mountains to hike and camp with his grandchildren. Dan enjoyed going back to Oklahoma every year to visit family.
